I've mentioned in previous blog posts that my son, John Lane, has eczema. It started when he was a newborn as a result of a milk protein allergy. When we found out about his allergy, I discovered bamboo clothing. It's great for sensitive skin, and I did notice a difference in the severity of his breakouts when we made the switch to bamboo. Since then, I have tried TONS of bamboo brands. I've tried all the major brands, several small brands, and everything in between. When I opened my store, I was eager to try even more brands, and one that I have come to love is Eclipse Kids. Below, you will find 10 reasons why I believe Eclipse Kids is Worth Every Penny.
1. Quality
Eclipse Kids makes their apparel from 220 GSM bamboo fabric, meaning it is thicker than a lot of bamboo apparel. Since it is thicker, that makes it more durable all while keeping the same cooling, comfortable qualities of bamboo.
2. Fit
My kids have probably worn HUNDREDS of pieces of bamboo clothing. With anything, you never know how sizes will vary by brand and that can be frustrating. My daughter Stella, who generally wears a 4T, might wear as small as a 2T in certain brands. However, Eclipse Kids offers a helpful size chart and I believe that their clothing runs true to size. It eliminates the guessing when buying for your kids and as a busy mom, that is a huge help.

Bamboo is naturally temperature regulating making it great for year round wear. Bamboo is about the only thing my kids will sleep in and they would wear their pajamas all day if I let them. 5. Attention to detail
If you're changing diapers in the middle of the night, the last thing you want to do is fumble around in the dark trying to snap a million buttons. The convertible sleepers made by Eclipse Kids feature two way zippers, which makes diaper changes a breeze. The convenience doesn't stop there, though! The footies are also convertible so that you can cover your little ones feet when you want, and uncover them when you want their little toes to breathe. The shorties and bubble feature snaps for easy diaper changes during the day, and the adorable twirl dresses are a perfect length with a beautiful feminine flutter sleeve. One of my favorite things, though, is the Moody Flowers Bamboo Tulle Dress. 6. The prints are AMAZING
The first print that I purchased from Eclipse Kids was the Giraffe print. I ordered it for Stella Lane Boutique and as soon as I received it, I fell in love. I immediately ordered more items in different prints, and I couldn't wait to see what else they had in store. Each time I ordered, I loved each print more that the last. I don't even think I could pick a favorite. The Butterfly Me Away Twirl and Romper are beautiful and vibrant, while the Sasquatch Tee is a great boy/gender neutral option.
7. Your Kids Can Match
As a mom of a boy and a girl, I have realized that there can be quit a discrepancy in the amount of boy clothes some companies offer versus the amount of girl clothes. I don't get it, I want my boy to look cute all the time too but there just aren't as many options! However, Eclipse Kids offers nearly every design in girl, boy, or unisex styles. I love dressing my kids alike, so finding a brand with options for both of them has been amazing. 8. It Wears and Washes Well
When you have babies and toddlers, clothing has to wash up well. Food stains, marker stains, dirt, etc. will likely end up on their clothes daily, so you certainly don't want to get something that will fall apart in the wash. Because of the 220 GSM bamboo fabric, Eclipse Kids apparel does amazing in the wash. I have had several brands that become thin or pill in the wash, but the items I have from Eclipse Kids look the same today as they did the first day my kids wore them. I typically wash all my bamboo together, inside out, with cool water and it keeps it looking great. I have had some brands (that we do not carry at Stella Lane Boutique) that bleed onto others when washed, others that come out of the wash with holes, but I have never had those issues with Eclipse Kids.
9. They are mom owned and family run
I did a little research on Eclipse Kids to write this blog post, and one thing I learned is that they are run by a team of moms. As a mom and small business owner, this makes me want to support them even more. I know how hard it can be to balance everything, and these ladies do an AMAZING job. Additionally, all of their clothing is ethically and sustainably sourced, as well as designed by their team of moms.
10. It's Affordable
If you've bought much bamboo clothing you know it can be EXPENSIVE. That's not the case with the apparel from Eclipse Kids. With products starting around $20, it's much more affordable than other brands. However, the quality does not suffer. I would stack Eclipse Kids up with any other bamboo brand and would never question the quality and commitment to detail. Their products just show that you don't have to spend a fortune for quality baby and kids clothing.
